I have been writing as a hobby for most of my life. My favourite genre to read is fantasy.

In 2010 I was given the opportunity to have my work published by an independent publisher. I had entered a local short story competition and one of the selectors liked my work and offered to publish a series of books featuring the character of a psychic detective that I had created. The intent is to do 4 books, each containing 5 stories.

  • Exlusive Author at Bentbananabooks
Michael O’Neill spent the majority of his working life in public sectors in Australia in roles ranging from file clerk, to teacher, and finally staff counsellor. Ideologically committed to civil service rather than the private sector, he derived great satisfaction from being involved in service to the public. Michael’s studies saw him on campuses in the 60s and early 70s during that period of heightened social awareness and growing student radicalism which spawned the New Left: young women and men dedicated to creating a better world.

He was deeply involved then in the search for understanding, truth and honesty, a search he continued with constant energy and analytical precision his entire life. He was also a dedicated diarist, essayist, sketch artist and journalist, though his work is largely unpublished. Michael’s sudden death in August 2013 interrupted but did not prevent the publication of his first book, Michael, we really have to talk.

  • Christina Debi
  • Exclusive Author at Bentbananabooks

Christina Debi was born in Brisbane. Her childhood was spent on the Sunshine Coast - on golden beaches, swimming in the deepest of blue waters. Christina's writing began as a child in the form of notes folded and pushed into soft drink bottles and thrown at random into rivers in the naïve hope that someone would read what she had written and respond. But life doesn't remain idyllic and a reply from the bottle-notes never turned up. So, many tides later and lots of water under the bridge, Christina decided to evaluate her methods of transmission.

Christina's first fiction novel 'When Life Walks On Bare Soles' is a down to earth way of looking at different kinds of relationships - good and bad - and how their interplay and dynamics create something called Life. Christina could never have fitted all those words inside a bottle.
